The aircraft was built by the Canadian Car and Foundry Company

Allocated the tail number 52-8504.

The trainer was later sold to the West German Air Force with the tail number AA+638.

The next owner was the Mozambique Air Force who allocated the tail number 1727.

The aircraft was bought by Brian Zeederberg who later sold it to the SAA Apprentice Training School for use as an instructional airframe.

The aircraft was registered ZS-WLU in 1991.
